There may have been grey skies and icy chills blowing through London, but on Saturday 25th February at the second Urban Tri Training Camp, the heat was well and truly brought. Over 100 of you united on a journey from Old Truman Brewery, home to the inaugural Balance Festival event this coming May, to BOOM Cycle in Holborn for the ultimate multidisciplinary challenge of HIIT – RUN – SPIN. We were delighted to be joined by our Urban Tri title sponsor Vega, as they introduced their new plant-based nutrition range to the UK health and wellness scene. There was sweat, strength and triumph all-round!
This time, our ambassador Zanna Van Dijk lead the session with special guests Tameka Small and Courtney Fearon setting the atmosphere alight with their fiery energy and fierce motivation. A total-body burner of burpees, mountain climbers and planks, to name a few of the moves our trainers militantly put us through, left heart’s racing all round.
Then, it was time to hit the streets as triathletes set off from the Brewery on a 4k, 6k or 7k run led by Brendan Brazier, co-founder of Vega and former professional Ironman triathlete, and Track Mafia. Through scenic roads and iconic landmarks, the pace was fast but triathletes matched their speed without so much as a stumble.
The third segment of the triathlon saw us saddle up and spin on the bikes of BOOM Cycle, the ultimate rave to round-up the workout.
Finally, we were rewarded with post-workout fuel from Vega –wholesome vegan chocolate brownies, cashew vanilla and coconut balls plus shakes featuring Vega’s new clean protein, all plant-powered and teeming with nutrients.
Another extraordinary success for triathletes. We’re more excited than ever for the big Urban Tri at Balance Festival
, featuring HIIT, RUN and YOGA, in support of Project Waterfall.
Couldn’t make it this time? Then listen up…
There’s just three more training camps to go before the main event in May. We’ll be joining forces with some of London’s top fitness studios for a secret session like no other. Keep an eye out for tickets released soon!
